ALEX CRUZ
I'm Alex, the founder and lead designer behind Particle Studios IO, based in Metro Atlanta. As a product designer and hardware enthusiast, I'm driven by a simple belief: exceptional products emerge when technical precision meets thoughtful design.
My approach to hardware design draws from an eclectic mix of influences. I'm fascinated by the intersection of form and function—whether it's the aerodynamic curves of a Nissan GT-R, the organic integration of Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater, or the satisfying click of a perfectly engineered switch.
At my core, I'm a tinkerer. I love dismantling devices to understand their inner workings, then reimagining how they could work better. My 3D printers run constantly (much to their chagrin), prototyping ideas that bridge the gap between concept and reality.
I believe great design inspiration comes from unexpected places. My love for art, architecture, and even the precise craft of pasta-making all inform how I approach product development. These diverse influences help me see solutions others might miss and create hardware that doesn't just function—it delights.
When I'm not designing, you might find me lost in ethereal synth music, analyzing the cinematography in films like Mr. Robot, or experimenting with new ways to push my equipment to its limits.
